Our Cottages

Ouhout; Sunflower and Wilde Als are self-catering cottages in the picturesque Natal Midlands of Kwa-Zulu Natal. They are situated on Springvale Farm between Nottingham Road and Rosetta. Springvale is a working dairy farm. There are some beautiful trails to run; walk or bike ride on the farm. We have spectacular views of central Ukuhlamba-Drakensberg, including Giants Castle. We are close to all the local private schools, wedding and conference venues.

Come and enjoy the peaceful country life, breathe the fresh air, relax and unwind on our farm or stay as a stopover on route to coast or inland.

The Midlands Meander is a beautiful route that not only shows off stunning scenery, but also have loads of outdoor activities, restaurants, and plenty of local artisans and artists producing everything from ceramics to leather goods, honey to beer and gin.

Springvale Farm

The farm has a milking herd of 850 cows and abundance of wild life.  It is part of the Bill Barns Crane and Oribi Reserve. A part of Springvale was donated to the reserve. According to the bill Barns website it is: “a unique gift to the Midlands community, as a model for environmentally sustainable farming practices, but it is also an unused treasure for people with a real interest in and concern for the environment.”
